@Sams Mom: Thanks, I'll definitely be switching!

@ineebee Aw, thank you. I have a joint disease that causes a lot of pain, and it makes sleeping difficult. 😔

@Hypatia: I hope testing in the afternoon makes a difference!

Aside from charting not really being an option, your sleep schedule sounds so rough! You poor thing! I think that’s similar to my sleep schedule now with a newborn, but this sounds Ike your everyday, is it not? Be that as it may, I think that, sadly, you’re right that charting probably won’t get you reliable information. :(

Like PP said test later in the day, but I tend to start testing 2x a day a couple days before my expected ovulation to catch it. Early afternoon and evening (yes I take ovulation tests at work 🙈)

@ineebee: Ah, I have been testing in the morning. I'll try that!

I don't know if charting is really an option. You're supposed to temp as soon as you wake up to get a controlled sample, right? I only sleep an average of three hours a night, and then take a two hour nap in the day, so my schedule is really irregular. Your tempature usually drops and stabilizes while you sleep, but my sleep is so bad I don't know if that applies (apple watch says I get an average of 20 minutes deep sleep per day total, and my heart rate stays elevated at 81 when it should be 40 - 70, so those are signs my temp probably doesn't drop either).

What time of day are you testing? They say the surge happens in the afternoon, so I tested after 3pm, once a day. Then, once I got a +, I would start testing 2x a day so that I’d see the whole surge.

Is charting an option for you? Or are you already charting?

Both last month and this month, I've had some light bleeding around the time I was supposed to ovulate. But both times, I never got a LH surge. My period came as expected last time, with the same amount of bleeding as always (I read that if it was an anovulay cycle, the bleeding should have been lighter or not at all).

I started testing a week early this month to be sure I wasn't missing ovulation. Should I be testing more than once a day to ensure I don't miss it? Or am I just not ovulating?

This is my sixth cycle since I had my second child, if it matters.
