@MenagerieMama: It's so hard to know! I had "false" positive opks. (Clear Blue Digital so I know I was reading them correctly). I only realized because I was temping and tracking CM and had day 21 bloodwork. But! I will say it's apparently normal for even women with no issues and regular cycles to have an annovulatory cycle now and then. You're listening to your body and tracking, so you'll figure it out! Even with cysts my cycles eventually became quite regular off birth control (the pill in my case), and I wasn't ovulating! We ended up conceiving on round 2 of Clomid at 50mg, so we were very lucky. Good luck!

@mrsjd: thanks. This is what I'm afraid of actually. I feel like being really sick may have thrown off my ovulating. And since I'm not doing OPKs I may never know! It's just weird, the spotting is sooo light but now has been ongoing several days.

Not what you want to hear, but whenever I spotted midcycle I was annovulatory. But I had irregular cycles, sometimes multiple LH surges with positive opks, so there was clearly something funky going on. I have non-hormonal, atypical PCOS.

@winniebee: nope. I was super sick so no chance of pregnancy since my period until the day I'd noticed the spotting! I really hope the weaning helps since it was bittersweet even though LO is 18 mo.

@MenagerieMama: also weaning was the key to me getting and staying pregnant. I think it's common to not be able to get pregnant while BF (but for me I had repeat chemicals while nursing). So I hope that's it for you.

@MenagerieMama: no chance you are pregnant now? The only time I spotted mid cycle was when I was pregnant -- we had a surprise conception at CD5 and I had no idea until around CD 15 I started spotting. A friend suggested I test, and it was blazing :bfp:

I TTCd for a year before getting pregnant naturally with my son. As soon as I started TTC, I spotted brown. It was usually before and after my period. It really freaked me out as I had never spotted before. I am not a doctor but I do believe it was due to stress, subconscious/ buried or not, over the TTC process. I believe it made my progesterone dip and cause spotting. I put SO much pressure on myself to get pregnant that I think my body was in turmoil. I had an IUI which failed but on cycle 13 after kind of giving up and realizing I had zero control over getting pregnant, we conceived with no help! Hope this helps.

@MenagerieMama: My cycle was shortly after I weaned DD1 as well, though there was one full cycle between. That could likely contribute. All I know for sure is that was the cycle we conceived DD2.

@whiskers: strong ovulation. I'll take it! I finally cut out LO's final breastfeeding session a few weeks ago ( :crying: ) so maybe that helped!

I had ovulation spotting the cycle I conceived DD2. Never had it before or since. It actually could mean a very strong ovulation from what I've read.

So we are on cycle #3 to TTC #2. First cycle was after getting my IUD out and was longer than usual. Second cycle was back to normal. This cycle I was really hoping it was it and this weekend should be ovulating and have been having faint brown tinged CM and today some spotting with BD. I'm worried it's going to be a funky cycle and I won't ovulate. I'm not using OPKs or temping - just using a fertile week based on when I ovulated when TTC LO (used OPKs then). We're trying a lower stress approach this time (LO was our rainbow baby after a m/c) and I"m not sure it's working for me! New this month was for the past week I've had a terrible flu turned sinus infection and am now on antibiotics, so I'm not sure if that's affected anything. I have finally turned the corner though but not back 100%. I don't recall ever having spotted with ovulation before. I can usually notice EWCM for quite a few days during my fertile week and haven't seen any yet. But I was taking decongestants and thought maybe that messed things up.

Ideas? I am just so frustrated to think I may be out this cycle already. I know 3 mo isn't long in the scheme of things but all my close friends/family are the try one month or oops club and it makes me feel like I'm the only one not a fertile mertile and I have such bad baby fever!! Plus next cycle we'll be visiting family over my fertile week which does not bode well for alone time with DH. Sigh.
