@Pepper: If your temps usually go down when you get the spotting but this month they're up, that could be because of the progesterone (since it increases your BBT). Then maybe the spotting was because of the applicator irritating something. I start spotting 8-9 dpo but my temp also drops correspondingly. I'm just starting hormone blood tests next cycle

@raintreebee: It could be the applicator this month, I didn't consider that. Hopefully that's it :)

@Foodnerd81: That is a help to know I'm not the only one! I wouldn't worry about it if it didn't happen so early into my LP.

@lawbee11: I missed that post! That's definitely helpful. I was on BC for a long time too, so maybe that has something to do with it. thanks for sharing :)

I created this post last week. Not sure if it's exactly what you're looking for, but just thought I'd pass it along...

I have spotting for about 4-5 days before my period, but it starts later (like, around 12 DPO, since my LP is long). My temps stay high the whole time until after my period starts. I haven't asked my doctor about it but will when I go in next month for a regular check up. Sorry it's not a help, but just to say it happens to me with high temps.

I think the applicators for the suppositories can irritate the cervix and cause spotting. I had this a couple days ago and am on endometrin. It could also be implantation bleeding!

This is long, sorry guys. I'm feeling pretty down today. I've been dealing with early spotting (usually 7-10 DPO) for over a year. I had a chemical pregnancy in April of 2011, and ever since then, my body has been out of sorts. I took antibiotics because my doctor thought the spotting might be caused by an infection. It wasn't. I had ultrasounds because they thought my small fibroids were causing it, but they're apparently too small and not in a place that would cause spotting. Now, they think it could be a luteal phase defect.

This cycle I've been charting again, and taking progesterone suppositories (100 mg at bedtime) since 3DPO. I was so hopeful until today at 7 DPO (TMI warning), I went to the bathroom and saw the same darn brown/pink spotting that I get a week before AF. I really was hoping the progesterone suppositories would fix the spotting, but it doesn't appear to have made a difference. What's even more confusing is that my temps are still high!

I just don't understand and I'm really frustrated. I guess my question is, has anyone actually conceived with spotting like this mid cycle? Does anyone else continually experience spotting during the luteal phase without any accurate explanation from a doctor?
