Good to know it's common! At first I thought maybe she didn't liked to be swaddled since she's trying so hard to break free. But no, she just likes to do nightly acrobats because we tried the sleep sack and her arms and legs were flailing like crazy!!

@princessbaby: wow your LO sleeps 7 hours already? that's fantastic!! The longest stretch my LO slept is 5 hours and I was giddy. Can't wait until she gets to 7 hours!

@jesslc: ya, I agree with you and princessbaby to wait it out. Unfortunately we live in a one bedroom so im hoping eventually she will be less noisy and wriggly at night!

I would also wait it out. My Lo did the same thing and that's why we moved him to his own room at 4 wks old :)

i would wait it out...its tough when they are in the same room as you. i never got any sleep when LO was in our room, she was so noisy and squawking and grunting, hooting like an owl, etc etc. my fear is that the nursing would become a habit for your LO that you would eventually have to break through sleep training. but i'm not sure that is the case.

alternative would be to move her our of your room :) we did it slowly...moved the bassinet outside of our bedroom door...then inched closer to her room.

My daughter (10wks) is a loud-ass sleeper, and she has periods thru the night where she'll randomly full-blown scream and fuss, but like yours, she's totally still asleep. I started leaving her be and she always stops and goes back to sleep. So I vote to wait it out! My personal policy is that if she's hungry, she will scream her head off and let me know. She does stir and fuss the last couple of hours before she wakes (she sleeps 10/1030 to 5/530am) but I never go get her up. I wait for full-blown "Get that boob in here NOW!" crying:)

My LO is 8 weeks old and she is super squirmy and noisy every night at 3am. She's rolling around trying to break free of her swaddle and grunting loudly. In the beginning I thought it meant she was waking up and hungry so I would pick her up right away and nurse. But now I realize that she's not even really awake because her eyes are still closed! So now I just let her be and she will stop after a few minutes but will start up again in a few minutes and this can last for an hour or more. Sometimes I give her a pacifier and that will soothe her for a few minutes but she eventually spits it out. It's impossible for me to go back to sleep because her crib is in our room and I hear every noise she makes. If I pick her up and nurse, she will sleep peacefully for another 2 to 3, but I don't want to wake her if she's not really awake or hungry.

Would you pick her up and nurse when shes starting to fuss or would you wait it out until she fully wakes and cries? Also, do you know why she only does this at night? She doesn't do this when she naps.
