@spaniellove: it is possible. My mom also has a wolf and it gets really hot, to the point where it has melted handles off pots.

Bar Keeper's Friend!

Not sure what else you need to know! I cook with oils/fats and never have problems with sticking. If something is looking sticky/like it'll be hard to get off, I deglaze the pan (http://www.thekitchn.com/cooking-basics-knowing-when-to-68599).

Also, make sure you know how to correctly season and clean your cast iron! http://www.thekitchn.com/how-to-clean-a-cast-iron-skill-107747

Hot pan, cold oil, food won't stick.

Unless you are using a professional range, your stove isn't going to get to super hit temperatures any way.

@SWANSONG - I've heard that, I'll think I'll need to get some!

@SPANIELLOVE - ah! I seem to keep getting conflicting information. I guess I'll need to do more research. :) I did read that you shouldn't use high heat.

Actually I read that I'm not supposed to heat up the cookware first, and not use high heat. And like @SwanSong: said, Barkeepers Friend always does the trick! Our cookware always looks brand new!

I swear by Barkeepers Friend to keep them looking shiny and new, It cleans off cooked-on oil stains easily and I use it monthly on all our pots and pans

We just switched from (almost all) non-stick pots and pans to stainless steel (and a few cast iron) which I've been wanting to do for years. Problem is, after doing some research online about how to use and care for the stainless steel pots and pans, I'm terrified! We spent a good amount of money on them and are committed to using them for health reasons, so I want to know your advice! So far, the main thing I've learned is that you always heat up the pan first before putting anything in it (besides boiling water). What other tips/tricks do you use?

Thanks!!
