Does he wear a diaper for bedtime?

DD does this, too, and it's annoying but we only recently potty trained so I've been putting up with it for now.

When DD started doing this, we put her potty chair in her room at night. Until recently, she couldn't get out of her room by herself, so that gave her an opportunity to go potty if she really needed to without stalling bedtime with a million pre-bed potty trips. This was during the summer so she was also wearing nightgowns to bed so she didnt need any help with her clothes.

I would just put him over a towel and let him sleep. Assuming he just went and bedtime has been delayed already. And he's not in a crying fit. I don't believe in going back to diapers. Although I don't think it would 'damage' his progress. I just refuse to go backwards unless there is a good reason...many fails. There's probably some book or a creative way to talk him into doing what you want but I don't know it yet!

I know I really shouldn't complain, but it is really frustrating when my little boy goes potty, says he's done, then asks to go potty again. He goes potty (so we aren't sitting on there and just waiting). But it is so frustrating when it's bed time.

Should we just tell him to go in his diaper or how many tries? He's gone 5 times since we started bedtime routine.
