@emahlee: I agree that it was harderthan the newborn phase! At least then I could nurse her to sleep. Nothing in particular taught her. We had several naps where she would start falling asleep standing. Over time she realized that it's just easier to fall asleep sitting down. I wish I had a solution. It would have made life a lot easier!

@autumnlove: Thanks. Tonight it took an hour and half for him to go down. But at he least he didn't cry (too much). He did walk around his crib until he got really tired.

@weagle: this phase is harder than when he was a newborn and needed to eat every 2 hours! I think I'm crying just as much as he is... How did your daughter learn to sit down and go to sleep? My baby only sits back down if there is incentive, like raisins in the crib.

This phase made me cry... Daily. It lasted almost a month for us, until she figured out that she could sit down and go to sleep. I don't think it usually lasts that long for people. We ended up CIO once she figured out the sitting down, but until then I did a lot of holding her for naps, skipping naps (fun for no one), and letting her sleep in the car. It was exhausting, but it did resolve itself!

So sorry! My LO was also a great sleeper and she went through this phase and it lasted almost a week. I just took her to my bed for some of those days or I let her cry it out. Sometimes it took over 45 minutes for her to sit back down and fall asleep.

I hope this phase ends quickly for you!

My 10 month old LO has always been a good sleeper. We've never had to sleep train him and he's always gone to bed without a fuss... until now! For the past week, as soon as we put him in his crib, he'd prop himself up to stand and then he'd cry/scream until someone picks him up. Even if we put him down drowsy, as soon as he hits the crib, he jerks awake and wants to stand.

It's been taking 30min+ to get him down. What to do?!
