Just want to say that she has just figured out how to sit down? (Literally, "just." I was watching on the monitor.) Praise the Lord!

DS would stand in his sleep sack and step on it so the neck would pull real tight, almost choking himself. I had to give it up once he started standing.

@erwoo: At least there's an upside, right? :)

@Sammyfab: It did help for three naps! :)

@Thehistoryofus: She usually goes down drowsy or asleep if she falls asleep during the nap routine. Right now she's going through a phase where she pops awake as soon as she hits the crib. We've been through them before, so I know it will pass. Her standing (and not yet being able to sit back down) just throws a wrench in it because she can't put herself to sleep like she normally would. She just went down for her first nap (after me going in several times to lay her down) and was so overtired that I just rocked her to sleep. Poor thing :(

@Weagle: can you get her good and sleepy before putting in the crib? We had to implement a no standing rule. If she stands up in her crib at bed time we immediately leave the room. If she lays down nicely we will stay and rub her back.

Oh no! I was hoping the sleep sack would help a little. Just give it some time. If you're going in, space out your 'checks' so she doesn't think you're in there to play. The other option would be to just do 1 check where you lay her down firmly to snap her back into go-to-sleep mode. It may make her a little upset but it will tell her that it's sleepy time and not play time,

I hope she gets over it soon! It's definitely not time to drop a nap. She's only 8.5 months, and definitely needs the two she gets.

My LO is 13 months in a floor bed and will get up and walk around the whole room in the sleep sack. So i don't think it is going to go away but she is still sleeping pretty good in spite of it....

I think its just something that's fun, new, and exciting. They get over it and start sleeping again. Unless maybe it's time to drop a nap?

We've had a hard time with naps lately because LO learned how to stand and cruise. I started using the sleep sack to deter her, but she has figured out how to stand and cruise in the sleep sack now. She's just going down for bed now because of her new "trick"...almost 3 hours late. Any tips?
