I was able to get meds - without seeing my dr, just describing symptoms on the phone - diflucan - and the NP at my dd's ped gave us a script for nystatin "in case" she developed it. I know your frustration though because my thrush came just as LO and I were starting to find our groove with BFing. It is suspected that B's staph infection was transmitted to my nipples. The LC believes that factors in to my nipple pain and burning/itching sensation even when I am not nursing. Apparently, I have many of the symptoms of thrush, but she doesn't think it is thrush because B's mouth looks normal.</p> <p>I have an appointment with my OB on Thursday, but would like to learn more about it before then. </p>
