Like the others said I get free drinks every 12 stars. But I usually wait for those emails they send about earning extra bonus stars for purchasing a certain drink or making a purchase during a particular time in order to earn stars (and the free drink) faster. I get emails and also if you use it with their on-going store sales (treat receipt, drink receipts, holiday drink sticker promotion, occasional BOGO deals) then add in free drinks (or food) after 12 purchases and birthday rewards. Starbucks in Seattle are everywhere so it's pretty convenient to rack up points. </p> <p>I cut back on my Starbucks trips because I changed my commute, but I think I have gold until Dec 2015. You get the occasional bonus offer to your email but besides that, it's not really that great. The best coffee deals I've seen (and no, doesn't compare to starbucks) but we have buy 6 and get the 7th (or 8th?) free at mcdonalds and their coffee is actually quite good now that they've changed it.</p> <p>I won't be making any attempts to remain a gold member.
