I just started the 30 day shred this morning, this will be my 10th attempt *ha*! My plan is to wake up early and get it done before everyone else wakes up. I find I simply don't have the energy or drive in the evening.

What I've heard repeatedly is that you want a nice mix of cardio and strength in the same workout. I have never been to a gym so I'm not sure what to suggest there. Good luck :)

@NurseMommy: Thanks!! What's mfp? I put on the weight in the last two years due to stress (according to my doctor).

ETA: I just googled it - MyFitnessPal...I would love to do it, I know I'm REALLY BAD with what I eat, and I'm a super picky eater.

1. Cardio is good for burning fat, but muscle burns more calories than fat, so it's not a bad idea to start weight training early.
2. The best time to work out is when you'll do it.
3. Try getting a heart rate monitor. Some people sweat more than others. A hrm will help you see where you should be.

Are you on mfp? I also have ~60 to lose and would love an accountability partner!

I need some help/advice

So in two weeks I'm starting work from home and I got a gym membership. I found it hard to go in the past because I was commuting a LOT.

1. I've never been good with dieting/exercising/etc. Do I start with a lot of cardio and then work in weights at a later date?

2. Am I better off getting up early and doing a workout before I start working or after?

3. This is totally weird...but I find I sweat, but I guess not as much as I think I'm supposed to? I want to push myself, not hurt myself, but definitely get going.

My main goal, besides my health, is to lose some weight. I know it won't happen fast, but that has been the tough sport for me in the past. I've gone to the gym and not seen results then given up. I have 60 lbs I need to lose.
