Yeah Gerber gentle worked for my son the best when we started supplementing and then we stepped up the "lactose ladder" gradually over time to Similac Sensitive, then Honest full dairy formula. I weaned completely to Honest at 10 months, then Enfagrow Toddler for one month when he was a year until his digestive system was ready for WCM at 13 months.

I started supplementing at 6 mo also and we had luck with Gerber gentle. Not the "best" formula out there but I didn't want to mess with what worked!

We supplemented with Similac. Our son didn't spit up too often.

I started supplementing around 8 months. DD hated the first few brands I tried but she loved Gerber Goodstart. I liked that they had it in ready made and powder so I could take it on the go when needed.

Definitely would try different brands. We had success with honest formula as a supplement. We started around the same time. I only mixed with breast milk twice and then went to straight form.

Doctors usually recommend giving a brand of formula a couple of weeks before you switch, since it can take time for a baby to adjust to it. But if you're concerned, I would call your pediatrician. They might have some recommendations.

So my period began again at 4 months post partum. I've noticed a significant drop in breastmilk supply since that time - particularly when I'm pumping. I have to travel without baby in about a month and am quite concerned that I won't be able to build up enough of a stash between now and then. So, here we are at 6 months and I thought I'd give supplementing with formula a try. I gave him 2 oz of breastmilk and 1 ounce of formula (enfamil supplement) at 4pm. Since then(it's now 8pm... I breast fed around 6, as well), he's been gagging and spitting up way more than usual. Help! Do I just need to give him more time to adjust? Do I try another brand or type of formula? Not sure what to do from here...
