@Mrsbells: We also introduced on the weekends and then slowly started adding one meal at a time to daycare.

My pedi recommended:
AM nurse
breakfast
mid-morning nurse
lunch
mid-afternoon nurse
dinner
evening nurse

I kept giving him milk whenever he wanted but this was the default plan.

@regberadaisy: Sorry it took me a while to respond. I plan to introduce one food at a time on the weekends and once I am sure she likes that food and doesnt have any reaction and is getting the hang of eating from a spoon, then I will send it to daycare

@Sammyfab: Thanks for that info!

It's recommended that you offer solids about an hour after nursing/bottle. Breastmilk/formula is supposed to be the baby's primary source of nutrition for the first year.

I offer solids once or twice a day (but very little as my LO hasn't gotten the hang of things yet) an hour after a nursing session. He nurses 4 times a day and gets a bedtime bottle so I give him solids after any of those nursing sessions.

@Mrsbells: how are you planning on introducing it in the beginning with daycare?

I was thinking probably just on the weekends and during the week when we get home before bedtime if there's time.
And yea, I was planning on doing the same thing with BFing until she eats a lot more purees.

We're on day 5, currently. We're still giving her the same amount of formula as before. The baby food is more of a supplement, once a day. I give her as much as she'll eat (about an oz, maybe a little less) and then we eat a bottle. I usually do it around lunch time.

Food Before One is Just for Fun!

We did not decrease her milk until she was REALLY eating a lot of solids around 9-10 months.

When you started solids, did you still give your LO the same amount of bottles or breastmilk? Also how did it work in terms of timing, did you give solids right before every bottle? Or was it more spaced out.
