I live in Chicago. Daycare was open today. I bundled him up a lot with a hat, mittens, scarf, boots, and snow coat. He handled it pretty well. He actually liked the wind gust as I got him to the door. Make sure that the car is super warm before putting LO in it. </p> <p>My office is open but with limited staff, so I'm working from home again. My boss is okay with it and wanted me to stay at home. Daycare will be open again for us. The cold isn't tough after I spent 45 minutes de-icing the car. I found the snowbanks where parking spots should be more difficult. The main roads are pretty clear. Where I live if we stayed home because it was too cold we would be home 6 months of the year. Unless the roads are in unsafe condition or you're in the middle of a blizzard, I wouldn't take time off when you live in an area of the country that gets really cold every winter. Daycare was closed today and my husband was able to stay home with our LO. It looks like daycare is open tomorrow but I'm concerned with bringing DS outside at all in subzero temps. I had told my boss that if daycare was closed tomorrow, I would have to stay home. He didn't seem to have a problem with it. </p> <p>Here's where I am having an issue with whether I should stay home or go in:</p> <p>- Seriously, it's cold. Windchill is crazy low.<br /> - But I'm still in my first month at my new job so I want to make a good impression.<br /> - I'm an accountant so we're in the middle of year end close. However, we're waiting on other people to get done with their stuff so tomorrow won't be a crazy day. In fact, it might be a bit slow. I did maybe 2 hrs of work today<br /> - Our cleaning people are coming tomorrow so I'll have to stay out of there way with a 1yo or go to my mom's, which sort of defeats that whole not going out thing.<br /> - It's so cold!!!!</p> <p>What would you do? </p>
