I stayed home overnight I high school for sure. Maybe even before that but my older sisters were still living at home and they were in high school.

My mom would leave me home for a few minutes alone while she ran out (for like less than a half our) on a regular basis when I was in elementary school (like first grade even) and most parents these days would say that's HORRIBLE. I never thought anything of it though, lol, we lived in the suburbs!

I started watching my sister after school when I was in 3rd grade..

The first time I stayed home while my parents went out of town was 15... they generally didn't go out anywhere over night so it was really the first time it came up.

I had stayed alone plenty of times prior to that though.. sometimes if they had a late date or work party or something.

I was probably 13 at the time- I can't believe some of your parents NEVER left you home alone! That being said, it's hard to imagine leaving my daughter home alone- but she is only two now.

I think the first time was when my parents left me home alone for an entire week while they went to Florida. It was also my spring break. I don't know what they were thinking or how I managed to convince them that that was a good idea. I was 16. I broke every rule I could break that week. It was awesome ;)

I was senior in high school when my parents left me alone overnight. I stayed at my boyfriends apartment when they were gone. I think my mom knew but she didn't ask and I didn't tell. We moved in together after I graduated anyways so it wasn't that big of a deal, and now we are married :)

I think I was around 16 or so when I stayed alone overnight. I was a good, nerdy kid who never really got in trouble. Even then, I'm pretty sure my parents had spies calling them..mostly because those spies wanted to be the one to catch be being bad and rat me out. I also grew up in a relatively small town with grandparents 3 minutes away and neighbors who are like family if I needed anything. No big deal where I'm from (small town Kansas)

I want to say around the time I was a freshman in high school. By the time I was a junior/senior it happened pretty regularly.

Same as Bee here — never alone overnight, but we were allowed to roam as far as we liked during the day!

I was 15, I think. The night my dad married my stepmom they stayed in a hotel and a few of my friends stayed over without supervision. We were good kids, but there was wine in the mix and it was bad, bad news. One of my friends got so drunk and was so tiny that I'd be surprised if she didn't have alcohol poisoning!

I don't think we ever stayed home alone over night. But my mom was cool. We had parties ( she went out with friends) and came back. My boyfriends were able to sleep over when I was 16. Not in the same room though.

My parents never left us overnight alone either. We could roam as far as we'd like.. but had to be home before the sun went down. I don't think we'll leave our kids home alone (over night) without supervision as long as they live under our roof!

I don't know that I was ever alone overnight as a kid. My sister is 6 yrs older so I had a built in babysitter for evenings, but even still my folks never left together for the weekend or anything.

I was probably in jr high before my parents let me stay home during the day/evening by myself. I had to call them like every hour on the hour though :) They were uber protective!

My sister and I were 18 when our parents went out of town overnight for the first time. Apparently that was to early for my sister because she still managed to borrow, and wreck, my dad's truck, and needed me to drive to town and rescue her.
How old you when you stayed home alone, overnight, for the first time? How old will your kids be before you leave them home alone at night for the first time?
