@krispi: you're right. the roof isn't very high. My daughter is pretty tall for her age, but she usually kneels or squats to look into the periscope. I think the kid in the pic is kneeling too. It hasn't been an issue. they won't be able to stand and play in there though.

I nanny for a 5 year old and an almost 2 year old. They have one similar to the first picture, and the 5 year old still uses it, despite having a full sized play structure.

I've been looking into getting my daughter something similar for her first birthday. One thing I saw in reviews on the second one is that the roof isn't high enough for taller kids. @futuremama: Have you had that experience?

We have the 2nd one with the periscope and DD loves it. She got it for her second bday. I think she'll outgrow it soon, but #2 will be able to use it. For a 1 yo, I think it would be great.

ETA: One thing I do like about this one (especially for the younger kid) is that it has more legitimate steps vs. a ladder. The ladder would make it a little tougher for little guys to get up safely.

We want to get DD (12 months) some kind of small climber with slide that she can play on while DS is on the big boy swingset. I can't decide between these two. Any opinions?
