My daughter is pretty tall for her age, but she usually kneels or squats to look into the periscope. I think the kid in the pic is kneeling too. She got it for her second bday. I think she'll outgrow it soon, but #2 will be able to use it. For a 1 yo, I think it would be great.</p> <p>ETA: One thing I do like about this one (especially for the younger kid) is that it has more legitimate steps vs. a ladder.
