I run everything (pump supplies, bottles, nipples) through the dishwasher every few weeks, but mostly just soak and wash in hot soapy water at least once a day. If I don't do a full wash, I just rinse and store the pumping supplies in the fridge.

Mrs. Wagon and Mrs. Bee have great posts about this in the blog. I do love the Medela steam bags too!

right now I'm sterilizing after every use because we're battling thrush.

but typically, in between uses I just use hot soapy water - and sterilize every few days. I was boiling water which was a PITA! then I bought those Medela microwave bags and I think I'll sterilize much more often :)

So far I have only sterilized my pump partsby boiling twice. I dont have a sterilizer so I just boil the parts in a pan, but definitely not everyday.

I don't sterilize after every use, or even every day. I just do it when convenient. Otherwise, I just wash by hand.

I hand wash my pump parts and bottles every day (and rinse them and put them in the fridge between sessions at work). I sterilize everything along with LO's bottles once a month or so?

After the initial sterilization, I usually just hand washed the pump parts and put the bottles in the dishwasher. I sterilized everything maybe every couple weeks.

I sterilize my pump parts every day, it just makes me feel better. I'm sure it's overkill, but I have the time so why not?

Hmmm, i don't know what's recommended but I sterilize after every use. I'm sure it's not necessary to do that, but I just feel more comfortable that way. I rinse all my parts in hot water, put them all in a bucket, and then once it's filled, I wash them all in hot soap water and then sterilize. I'll throw in pacifiers too.

I have the Ameda Dual HygieniKit Milk Collection System and Dr. Brown's glass bottles. In the cleaning instructions for both, it says to sterilize before first use and clean with soap and water after every use. Yesterday I was talking with some moms and one said that you only need to sterilize once a day, not after every feeding/pumping session. Should I be sterilizing even though the instructions say just to wash with soap and water? Do certain pumping systems and bottles not need to be sterilized after each use? FWIW, I wash the pump parts right after I use them, and the glass bottles either right away or within a few hours, but at least rinsed first.
