@chopsuey119: thought you would appreciate the poop of the night story since you are still relishing in your recent success. Tonight we got out of bed about 1/2 hour after usual bedtime because E was still up and kind of antsy so I asked her if she wanted to go potty. Of course she did, anything to get out of bed. So anyway, after she went, we read and played a bit since she was wide eyed and bushy tailed. Then she made some cues that she needed to go number 2. :d Since I was tired and eager to get her to sleep, I told her you will get 5 (WOW-5) stickers for going do-do. Her eyes got super big and excited. Then E went back to playing/reading. About 5 minutes later she said she was ready! :D We had lots of time to pick out all the stickers while she went the big one! :D See, still so exciting!!
@pelikila: We used to sing a potty song to the tune of Happy Birthday. So....I now get nervous whenever we sing it 'for real' for someone, as if it will trigger her potty reflex. So far, so good. (We give lots of potty praise too. Stickers are on occasion at home when I want her to go when I want her to go, like before leaving the house, so I don't have too much guesswork on the go.)

HAHA so cute. My LO doesn't get rewards yet. I don't think she does anyway..
She does love her stickers though! I bought her some HK ones that were cheap and ripped easily. Omg she drove me crazy with them so I had DH distract her while I hid the book.

We did a no reward potty training and it worked great because I didn't want the potential for a power play to occur when my son realized he could get something by withholding. He received verbal praise but our method was more about setting up the expectation and not accepting anything less. He wasn't ever reprimanded for an accident but if he did have one he was told where his pee and poop go and that he was not to pee in his pants or on the floor.

As far as focus items to help keep them on the potty long enough we sing songs, count to 50, or read books.

I go slowly with the stickers to draw out the time on the potty. What kind of sticker do you want...ooh what about this one...so you want this blue one? Etc etc...

I've been thinking of starting stickers but we haven't done it yet. My son gets special toys he can only use when he's on the toilet. It works well. A friend has her daughter count to 10 and if she (mom) has to count, they count to 20. If she has to pee it is usually before the first 10. It's been mildly successful with my son when we are out.

LO loves stickers so much...if we ask her to go potty, she will sometimes say no. When I say want a sticker, bam...on she goes. My brother used m and ms with his son, did you or are you using anything for motivation?. We also used a song or a noise to keep her focused. Btw, Target has really pretty and cheap stickers in the scrapbook section. ;D I finally broke down and bought some instead of using random ones.
