There's a baby at our daycare who never rolled. She's almost a year and skipped crawling too. She just went straight to pulling herself up/cruising. So I think every baby's different, and it's probably nothing to be worried about. :)

Rolling is also not one of the "musts" milestones. My husbands little brother never rolled! He just went straight to crawling around 6 months so every baby is different :)

Our little guy was slow to roll over too - at 7 months he finally would go from tummy to back. No need to worry.

I know how you feel about everyone else's baby doing stuff before yours :) Mine didn't really start rolling until right around 6 months. He had only rolled once or twice one direction before then, but they seemed accidental.

At 6 months I got tired of every other baby at swim class doing great at tummy time, so we started really practicing, showing him how to roll, and pretty soon after some extra tummy time and cheerleading, he had it down. He hated tummy time for a long time too, probably his great big head didn't make it easy!

At 7 months there was no stopping him from rolling over, it was his favorite mode of travel. Give it a little time and your baby will be into everything like mine is... you'll be wishing for those pre-rolling days again!

I'll try not to worry then! Thanks guys. At our last well baby visit, our ped kind of made me feel like she was surprised she wasn't rolling over yet, and that she should start very soon, and that was over a month ago.

Mine is the same age and hasn't yet either. His head control is good (has been since about 2 weeks!) but he doesn't seem the least bit interested in it. I think it's partly because he HATES tummy time- he's pretty big (20 lbs) and has a huge head so I think it's not as easy for him :).

Don't worry all babies hit milestones at different times and all babies are different.

Many babies I know didn't roll over until after 6 months. I wouldn't be worried!

I wouldn't worry about it just yet. Maybe help LO practice rolling over and spending lots of time on the ground.

I wouldnt be too concerned. All babies hit milestones differently (I know youve heard that 1000 times and are probably sick of it lol.) If she is sitting up well and doing good with tummy time, shes probably ok. Have you shown her how to do it?

Liv was advanced on her physical milestones (sitting, rolling, crawling, etc) but she didnt say "mama" or "dada" until later than most babies. Our pedi said that many times, they focus so much on one set of skills or one particular skill that another will fall abck a bit, but will eventually catch up. And he was right =o)

LO is a little over 5 months old, and still hasn't rolled over. Should I be concerned? She has great head control, and sits up with very little assistance, and does good with tummy time. She just shows no interest in rolling over. I feel like most babies her age are already and have been rolling over for awhile.
