@grizz: hey, if it works for you now, i'm all for it! he'll start to spread them out! you can keep working on EASY and "push" as much as you feel comfortable! he's still so little, so it's all good!

It sounds like he's probably doing a lot of comfort sucking. I would keep trying to get him to take a pacifier, it took us a couple weeks to get E to take one, and try other comfort measures like the swing or bouncer so that he can have other methods for settling for times you're not around.

@emg86: @birdofafeather: Both. He actively nurses for about 20 minutes, then drops off to comfort sucking. I am totally guilty of letting him comfort suck to sleep because its the one thing I've found that works.

@emg86: that's my question. is he getting a full feed in or is it for comfort. i had to work hard in the beginning to make sure she was getting a full feeding in so she could last a little longer!

Hmmm...is he actually eating or just comfort nursing or using you as a paci?

My biggest concerns - him going to the sitter and being miserable when I go back to work, not leaving enough milk for him with the sitter, and him not getting enough sleep.

I have been attempting to implement EASY to get DS some nap time in. He is sleeping one good stretch at night (4 hours) but after that he's nursing every hour. He nurses almost every hour during the day too! I feel like a crap mom because he can never get a good nap.

He's gaining great, plenty of wet and dirty dipes, my milk supply is good. He's very happy and smiley. Is this just a phase? Our pedi told us to try to give him a pacifier, but he won't take one - no matter what kind.
