I'm doing my best to ignore them. That's what happened to me. I didn't dare look and only touched with a washcloth while showering ;) then at my postnatal checkup the doctor informed me they'd dissolved 2-3 weeks after birth. I had a 2nd degree tear. I definitely lost a few in pads etc but I just decided I wanted to ignore them. So I did. I have dissolving stitches, but at almost 2 weeks PP, I still can see and feel them! Well, most of them. Mine are more inside...but I took a look with a mirror today and I had more stitches than I thought! And the strings are still kind of long and definitely thick and pokey - NO WONDER why I'm so uncomfortable! When will these things "dissolve" by? </p> <p>And has anyone ever PULLED one of the stitches? I have one that I could see and feel before, but not anymore. Instead, it's really painful and stings there, and think maybe it got pulled out? </p>
