I said our first names as we didn't have any kids yet and I thought that would be weird. She ended up not putting any name on them. It actually worked out better this way as they became back up stockings for our boys since my mom cross stitches a stocking for all of her grandchildren. DS2's stocking is so small that it can't fit anything in there. DH and I just use our stockings from childhood that have our names on them.
