Thanks for the input. We are registering through Amazon so it is good to know that they have an awesome return policy. So worst case scenario, we'd just exchange the ones we don't use or if they don't work out for us.

we have twins too. registered for 3 cases of newborn diapers (earth's best) and received them all. got a few boxes of odds and ends in size 1 (huggies). that's all we had before they were born and it's worked out fine.

even though our twins were smallish (6-12 and 5-4), we weren't in the newborn diapers that long, and actually returned a case to amazon for credit - that was really nice.

they've been in size 1 diapers for quite awhile now (10 weeks), and we've recently made the switch over to kirkland brand size 1-2 that goes up to 15 lbs, since they are so much cheaper and still work great. previously we used earth's best which we didn't really care for, and then huggies little snugglers, which we liked fine. i wanted to stockpile, but hubby said to wait. i'm glad we waited since I would have stockpiled the earth's best and had a huge return to deal with.

fwiw, amazon and diapers.com always had the best prices for us. but costco has been far and away the cheapest for their brand. all three have awesome return/exchange policies.

We use cloth, but disposables when traveling. When we have too many disposables, even if they're opened, I use them to make diaper cakes for friends at baby showers. I feel like if you have extras you can always gift them.

I'd focus my stockpiling on size 1, 2 and 3. You'll probably be in those sizes much longer.

Pampers Swaddlers were great for newborn and size 1. By the time you hit size 2, you don't need the wetness indicator anymore. If there's pee, it's pretty obvious! We use Pampers Baby Dry now.

And with twins, I'd definitely stockpile! By the time my LO was born, I has 2 boxes of size 1, 2 boxes of size 2 and a mishmash of other diapers that were gifted to me. She's 4.5 months now, and I'm just opening the first box of diapers I purchased after she was born.

And if you want Pampers, BRU has a great sale right now where you get a $20 gift card when you buy 2 jumbo boxes.

For all my Pampers love, I do like the Huggies wipes better. They seem stronger.

I'd say go for it, as long as you have the option to return/exchange. We were gifted some diapers, and we just didn't like them at all. Thankfully, it was a small amount, so nothing was wasted. FYI, LO uses the Pampers Swaddlers, and are pleased with performance thus far.

I'm a huge fan of pampers swaddlers and so is DH because it has the moisture stripe that tells you if you need to change it. That being said I wouldn't go buying too much of newborn sizes since you don't know how long your LO will fit into them. To give you an idea DD only wore NB until 3 weeks. She then wore sz 1 for weeks 4-13 and now at 14 weeks she's in size 2 which im pretty sure shell be in for a couple more months. She was average size when she was born at 7lbs 13oz. We had a good stockpile so it was nice not having to buy diapers for awhile however all those boxes took up a lot of space in our house.

Its tricky because you dont know how long your LO will be in each size. So you might end up with too much of a certain size. If the store has a great return policy then that might be ok. I do like pampers swaddlers very much though.

Interested in this also! I would love to stock up, but what if the brand we pick doesn't work for our LO? Is it easy to return/exchange?

I have heard such conflicting advice. Some people say to start buying diapers and/or register for them ahead of time so you can get a good stash going and some that say you shouldn't because you don't know what will work for your baby. We are having twins so any help we can get with diapers by way of our registry would be great. We are thinking of using the Pampers Swaddlers Sensitive based on all the great reviews and recommendations. Any advice from the moms out there?
