It's pretty common to find those used at flea markets and antique stores here. I've never seen one peeling and some are really old. Maybe just the corner if it's fallen on concrete?

You could maybe just sand everything off and have it re-varnished nicely?....paint's kind of a bitch.

If it has to be re-painted, you might want to consider having it done professionally. It should be sanded, primed, and painted with a spray gun at proper temperatures and humidity. That's how they get it to stick/stay so much better than anything we paint ourselves :) Spray > Brush. Especially for something high use that you'll be wiping and touching a lot (and that you want to be safe. Prepping the chair is key!)

I haven't noticed any problem with the paint, but we've only been using it a month.

I've been trying to look for a used Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair in grey, white, or black. I found one kind of far away in white (like 1 1/2 hr drive) but he said it needs to be re-painted, and it's common in the painted colors? Anyone here have a painted color Tripp Trapp? Did you have problems with the paint peeling or chipping? Wondering if I should just find a natural wood, if that's the case.
