we bought one and love it! was hoping to keep her just pulled up to the table like PP said, but for now, food keeps going everywhere (dripping onto the chair, the tablecloth, etc.) so we are fine with this method! plus, it does give her some play space - I give her toys or just pour water on the tray and she goes to town! (7.5 mos)

I didn't know trays were available. We've always just pushed her to the table and it's been fine

I just bought the tray. Haven't had a chance to use it because Guggle sold us the old version of the baby set! Grrrr. I like the idea though, of her being able to play with finger foods on the tray while I cook dinner etc...

I thought we would need one, but we never bought one, and now I can't imaging doing anything other than just pulling DD right up to the table. She loves sitting at the table with us! For now I mostly feed her purees with a spoon, but I just bought her a bowl that has suction cups to stick to the table. We'll start using that as DD starts thinking about feeding herself. We also put a giant plastic mat down under the TripTrapp for dropped food.

Friends of ours just bought a Kiddy Platter for their chair (http://www.kiddyplatter.com) and a saw a promo code on their FB page: https://www.facebook.com/kiddyplatter

I only started using Tripp trapp after DD became a toddler but am thinking of getting one for DS now as well. I will probably pull him up to the table and put down a placemat. Skip hop also sells plates that suction to the table so I may try that

Did anyone spring for a tray for your Tripp Trapp? I know the whole point of this highchair is to pull it up to the family table, but I can't imagine my 6 month old will be neatly eating off a plate from the (round) glass dining table.

Was it worth it? Any recos? Alternate solutions?
