around this time 18 weeks - until about 26 or so - i had a lot of cramping that I believe was round ligament pain. I would only get it if I was doing something physical, even walking was causing a lot of pain, sometimes so bad I had to stop & sit for a while. it's gone away since. But I found drinking A TON of water helped, and when it was acting up I tried to take it easy.

i've never had contractions, so i'm not sure what they feel like, but it doesn't necessarily feel like period cramping or something that deep. it's more like my muscles are pulling apart or stretching. it's really hard to describe... i never felt this prior to being pregnant.

Hhmmmhh... I would probably try to get someone to help you with the heavy lifting from now on. It sounds like the straining might be causing contractions. Its probably not too much of a concern since the discomfort stops when you rest but better to be safe than sorry.

i'm a part-time newborn photographer for a local group of hospitals, and the past couple times i've worked i've been experiencing stretchy/pulling/crampy pains in my stomach across my belly button and down around my abdomen. the job is pretty physical, i push around a very heavy cart, and constantly bend, lift, rotate, and squat. i only have these cramps/pains when i'm working, and today has been worse than wednesday.

i'm not sure if this is just a normal side affect of working while pregnant or if i'm doing some sort of damage. i feel like such a loser since i know women in other countries regularly do much more strenuous work while pregnant, but i'm just nervous that i'm doing something wrong! i'm 17w4d, by the way.
