I throw it all in the washer as it happens throughout the day, then do a big, hot load all at once.

@blackbird: Same here. I cannot stand to look at/smell any of it, so I wash it on hot right away.

When I have a sick kid, I start a "soak load" and leave the lid open (i don't have a front loader) and I drop in clothes through out the day. Then I finish the load when I feel like it's enough and do an extra rinse cycle at the end.

We had enough of the laundry yesterday to do full loads. Apparently diapers just don't hold up to that kind of abuse overnight :bummed: But to answer your question, I would totally do a small load to eliminate the smell. That and lots of vanilla candles.

At the end of the day.... we went through WAY too many burp cloths and clothes to do a load every time.

We also switched to as much disposable as we could to help with the laundry. A plastic changing mat that could be wiped down with bleach after every diaper change, paper towels and hand santizer, and even disposable bed pads!

Do you do laundry as you go or save it up for larger loads. My whole house smells like diarrhea and vomit...poor LO 2! I am doing laundry as we get the accidents right now because my nose can't handle it.
