@catomd00: thanks, I didn't know I should wait one hour before trying liquids! And a teaspoon at a time seems more reasonable. Ugh, this sucks!

As long as there's no dehydration signs and any fever is controlled with meds, I'd just let it take its course. After vomiting, you should wait one hour before trying any liquids. I suggest pedialyte instead of water. Start with one teaspoon every 15 minutes. If he vomits it back up, start the one hour again.

I wouldn't worry about the food, the only way my kids and I can settle our stomachs is but NOT eating. Also, there's kids anti nausea meds, that may help him be more comfortable.

Ugh, stomach bugs are the worst. I wouldn't worry about keeping him fed at this point, only keeping him hydrated. I'd just push little sips of pedialyte and wait until the vomiting stops to try food. My LO stops eating all the time when he's sick and our pediatrician says not to worry about it, just keep him hydrated. He'll eat when he feels better.

LO is 2.5 and it's his first real stomach bug. Last night, just before bed, he vomited 5x in about one hour. This morning, the water he drank when he got up came back up after a few minutes of drinking. Then he tried a few bites of banana and that came up shortly after too.
I guess I have no idea how long to wait it out before getting more concerned?? He's not wanting to eat or drink much - he's probably scared that he'll throw up again...
Other than the BRAT diet and pedialyte popsicles, does anyone have any other ideas on keeping LO hydrated and somewhat fed?
So sad to see my LO so miserable.
