I agree w/ PP's, she gets plenty of standing practice elsewhere, not that the sleep sack has stopped her at all. Lastly, I would prefer she not spend her time in her crib standing! lol!

My 3 year old walks around just fine in his sleep sack!! Haha. I know it's kinda late to be in a sleep sack but he takes so much comfort in it. He's a creature of habit! He's still in a crib, too.

@Mrs. Bee: Oh, what a funny image--escaping from a crib in a sack! Thanks for the input--I'm so not ready to let go of the sleeping sack yet (when I pick her up out of the crib it looks like a little gown:) so we'll hang onto it for awhile more...

@cheesetomywhine: Thank you! That does make me feel better:)

i wouldn't take them out of the sleep sack to help them stand. they get plenty of practice during the day, and it's never been a deterrent for Charlie and Olive to stand in the crib anyway.

we stopped using sleep sacks shortly after charlie turned 2 because he started climbing out of his crib in his sleep sack. i suspect we'll be able to keep olive in her sleep sack and crib waaaay longer than charlie because she's such a cautious little girl. keep them in sleep sacks as long as possible i say!

@Weagle: Good to know. I'm definitely not ready to say goodbye to sleep sacks:)

My LO started pulling herself up at 9 months and wearing a sleep sack never hurt this milestone. What i found really helped was having her go barefoot! We are in Canada so it is chilly but once i let her go barefoot she was pulling herself up so easily. She is 11 months and even with the sleep sack (we have the puffy deedee sack) she can pull herself up.

Maybe get a looser one? My son is in his DeeDee sleepsack at 23 months, and he walks all around in it.

My daughter is 9 months and pulls up like a champ in her sleep sack. I think she probably has lots of time during the day to practice pulling up when she's not wearing the sack if that's what your ped thinks the problem is?

At LOs 9 month check-up this morning, our pediatrician suggested no longer using the sleep sack so that LO can get more practice pulling up to stand (I haven't ever found her standing up in her crib at the railing). Our apt. is a bit cool at night and I'm concerned that she'll get too chilly and she also sleeps much better with the sack. Does anyone have experience with this or advice? I don't want to unintentionally hamper a milestone but until spring really comes to New England, I want to make sure she's cozy and warm.
