FWIW, I once stopped taking my BCP with my doctor's approval before finishing the pack because the side effects were negatively impacting me. I was planning on stopping my BCP when I finish up my current pack. I am a little over halfway through it.</p> <p>I missed a pill the other day so now I am having some mid-pack breakthrough bleeding. The bleeding is pretty light, but it looks like if I finish my pill pack I am going to have two “periods” this month (oh boy!). Now, with the breakthrough bleeding, I want to just go ahead and stop completely, but I most of the advice I have read says doing that can mess with your cycle. I don’t really understand that advice because I am on a monophasic pill, and my cycle is already screwed up.</p> <p>What would you do? </p>
