They definitely have your address as they need it to enter the billing address. Many people will have it shipped to the billing (less suspicious than shipping to another address) and wait to see if delivered and then grab it before anyone who lives there can get it. I used to work in a fraud department for an online company.

@mrskansas did you ever find out what happened with this? the EXACT same situation just happened to me, and of course I've already cancelled my cc and am calling R&F in the morning. Very curious if you ever got to the bottom of it? Thanks!

I had something similar with Gilt- they ordered a $200 sweatshirt to have it sent to my parents house (which was saved as an address on my account). Then after that was ordered they changed the email address and password on the account. I happened to see the email alert about the sweatshirt right away and called Gilt, but it took them a few minutes to find my account since they had changed the email address. I had to close the whole account down. I assume they were trying to make are the credit cards worked and stuff, by completing the order first, then would order what they really wanted.

I had this same thing happen to me with a $10 toy from Target before I had kids. Target never did figure it out. They sent me a new card, had me return the toy to the store, and change my password. So strange!

Rodan & Fields i think is a multi-level marketing business. someone could have done this to boost their down-chain sales numbers and get whatever rewards/profits come with that. you should definitely contact R&F because they should be able to track your order to the folks higher up the chain who get credit for it.

Well I opened the box. Tons of products and also samples and info. Looks like someone tried to order a starter kit to become a rep or something. How bad is it that I kind of want to try some of it out?? :silly: But I really don't know what to do with it now.

I've never had this particular thing happen to me but I have the same kind of CC and there have been several breaches which required new cards and several small charges that I caught before they had a chance to charge higher priced items which required new cards. Very frustrating since no other CC's I own have ever had this issue.

@MrsSCB: yes! I was so mad trying to bring them back to the stores. We were able to refuse delivery on two ottomans, and two the company was able to "recall" the delivery. So I only ended up with one that I had to drag in. But they could have ordered jewelry! It costs about and is small.

This happened recently to my in laws. Their Best Buy card was used and the purchase was sent to their house. I think they caught the charge before the item was shipped so Best Buy just canceled it. But it was weird!

This happened with Kohl's for me. One day a HUGE box showed up at my door from Kohl's. It was a giant ottoman. So I logged onto my Kohl's charge card online and sure enough there were 4 more giant ottomans coming to my house.

Someone had stolen my card information. Ordered a ton of high dollar items. Shipped them to me. They took the Kohl's cash (You get $10 Kohl's cash for every $50 spent) and spent that to get what they wanted. It was a mess.

It's really weird that it came to your house...My husband had his credit card info stolen years ago and someone purchased a laptop. They put down his home address as the delivery address, but then rerouted the package after purchasing to a different address. I believe this was to make it look like my husband purchased it himself rather than fraud. Maybe they planned to do that but it didn't work? I assume however they stole your credit card info also gave them access to your address.

Hmmm maybe whoever made the fradualent charge mixed up the billing and shipping address? Like, they do know your address and meant to enter it just for billing but accidentally shipped it to you too. Is the box adddressed to your dh? Also, did the credit card company cancel the card, or just take the charge off the bill?

I was checking our BOA account online and noticed a $1,100 charge from Rodan & Fields (skincare company) coming from my husband's credit card. Obviously he did not make a $1,000 skincare purchase so we disputed the transaction and it has already been resolved.
Today a huge box from Rodan & Fields showed up on our doorstep.

I am so confused. We've had this happen once before years ago but someone bought a bunch of perfume and it was sent to what I assume to be their address in another state. It doesn't make sense to me that WE received this order. It also makes me nervous that whoever has our card information also has our address. Is this even possible?

Sorry for the rambling but this is just so odd! Has anyone else had this happen?
