Always strapped in. (LO uses carseat adapter on his stroller) and I strap him into both- I am too afraid on something happening to him!

@Ree723: I also use the wrist strap - especially standing at lights...anyone could bump me and the stroller could roll out into the street.

I keep her strapped into anything with straps.

LO is always strapped in, regardless of where we are or for how long she'll be in it. I'm super paranoid - I even use the wrist strap the majority of the time, which DH does kind of laugh at, but I'm so scared of something happening to her.

Like @mrsgreengrass one of my best friend's good friends (a girl we went to hs with) was out walking her two kids and was struck by a car driven by a woman on her phone. She had the infant in a carrier and the toddler in the pram - both kids survived, but the mom died. Had the toddler not been strapped in, she very likely would have been thrown from the pram. Stories like that scare me more than words can say!

We have always lived in cities and LO is always strapped in, even now at almost 2.5 years. I think it s a good habit because as your LO gets older, they will be used to being strapped in and (hopefully) not fuss about it.

I do! I hadn't even thought about getting hit by a car.
I am paranoid someone is going to reach in snatch him out.
A man grabbed the stroller at the the airport while I let go to get my bag. I think he was just old and needed something to hold.
I screamed so loudly to not touch my baby. Scared the heck out of him AND me.

I often forgot to strap him in when he was in te toddler seat at like 4 months bc it was so reclined. Now at 7 months he's constantly trying to sit up and lean forward so I definitely strap him in now.

@shopaholic: I don't think it's paranoid at all, since just a couple of weeks ago I saw a woman with a stroller that tipped totally backwards and fell on the ground.

I was only about 2 feet from her, but I'm not exactly sure what happened...she was holding on to the stroller and going over (down) a curb on the sidewalk, and she had a heavy-looking diaper bag on the handles on the back....so my guess is somehow her grip just slipped when she was going down the curb, and the whole thing just fell back to the ground.

Her baby was strapped in and fine! But the mom started crying and seemed SO upset. I didn't know what to do....

Always strapped in. Though, when we were using the carseat on the stroller in the mall after a change, I wouldn't strap her in well. And I did it mostly to keep the straps out of her way.

Yes. There was a recent story in my area where a car hit a nanny and baby in stroller. The nanny was killed, but the baby survived. HORRIBLE!

My stroller has almost tipped a couple of time...not really, but enough to make me jolt.

We go for walks just about every day. Sometimes I feel like I'm being paranoid about strapping her in the [car]seat in the stroller. But once we get near any road with cars, I get nervous and will strap her in if she isn't already. I don't know if I have an irrational fear, but the thought of her stroller getting hit and her flying out does cross my mind. FWIW, our speed limits around here are 50-55mph and people tend to still go about 40mph in the neighborhoods.

Do you always strap your LO in the stroller for walks? If not, when did you stop? Like when they could walk? Or did you worry they'd jump out of the seat then on their own?
