Once she got the hang of using a strong from this one, we were able to use pretty much whatever. I still don't have one I really love.

I tried a bunch and my LO liked the Munchkin ones the best. I found some on sale at BRU for $2.50 and I bought 4 of them in the same style. Since then, I've purchased a few more of the same, just a different design/character/animal (we have puppy, owl, and santa). The handles and tops work interchangeably between the different designs we have, which makes cleaning/putting them together easy. They usually don't leak unless I put in super hot or iced drinks... the liquid does tend to travel up the straw when the temperature changes. It doesn't leak with fridge temp water or slightly warmed milk.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: As compared to others I've used, he finds it easier to drink from. It also has a lid cover that closes over the straw so is easily transportable. I like it because there is less to clean than the Zoli.

We also use the Zoli cups. DS was able to drink from it easily at 8m old.

The problem we have with them is that DS likes to chew on the straw and they're very soft. He's chewed through them a few times, despite us watching him use it and taking it away immediately after he drinks.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: The Zoli has a weighted straw so my LO can always get the liquid out. LO hasn't had any issues drinking from it and seemed to get thehang of the straw right away.

ETA: they make a 6oz and a 9oz version

@raintreebee: @MapleMoose: are those easy to drink from? And do you have to keep it pretty full for the straw to work? DD tends to lift the cup and then can't get anything out.

We use the Zoli Bot straw sippy cup with handles. LO1 hasn't had a problem drinking from it for several months now. It's convenient for travel because the cap closes over the straw but doesn't detach. Sometimes it's a pain because it leaks if you forget to make sure the rubber ring isn't securely in place before screwing the cap on. I usually wash it by hand but sometimes I throw it in the dishwasher, top rack.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: I'll be curious if others have recommendations for less expensive cups! we tried it because it says on the package that it's easier to use at a younger age. But who knows, maybe she's just starting to figure the straw out anyway!

We just switched LO over to whole cows milk and my pedi suggested we use a straw cup for tooth health. We have a Nuby one and playtex. The Nuby one flicks milk eeeeverywhere. The playtex one is ok. She likes the handles on it. Just wondering if there's a straw sippy with handles that is good for starting out with straws.
