@hilsy85: I was really drawn to the suspension on the Bug as well. The UBV has great rear suspension. None on the front wheels, but it handles the NYC/Hoboken sidewalks and central park with no problem at all. Oh and I forgot-I liked the solid and foam tires on the UBV. The bug had air filled tires. Maybe that changed since I looked a year and a half ago, but my brother and SIL always told me what a huge pain in the ass it was to go use the stroller and find a flat tire

Let me know if and what you order!! I did just notice that bugaboo will be on Gilt on Monday the 18th.

@LivsMama: You are so sweet to offer! :) I did actually notice that the bug is much lower, and DH and I are on the taller side so that's important to think about actually. I think I just keep getting drawn back to the AMAZING suspension on the bug, but the uppa baby suspension/push is pretty darn good too! I just need to make a decision, lol. We've been to giggle a bunch--I think we need to bite the bullet and order it this weekend! I'm glad to hear that you guys are happy with your choice tho--makes me feel more confident! :)

My husband saw the quinny at trader joes and totally wanted it! It's nice cause you can turn the seat to face you or the front which is totally cool since so many babes wanna see their mom (vice versa!!). Also the bugaboo looks pretty fan-tabulous

Not really. I got a graco snap n go off of craigslist (or I'm getting one, rather) and we bought the BOB when it was on sale. I know I will want another light weight one when we get past the six month mark or so though!! I don't love the bassinet strollers, don't really know why, I guess just not my style. The BOB was DH's call.

I originally registered for the City Mini because I loved it at the store and it had awesome reviews. Then, I realized I wanted a jogger so I registered for the Baby Jogger FIT (same people who make CM) and am obsessed with it! No baby yet, but I swear I want to take it out for runs in the park!

@hilsy85: Those were the final two I couldnt decide between. Then after testing them both and talking with moms who had both (including a few who actually owned both of them) we went with the Vista. The Bugaboo Chameleon sits much lower than the UBV does, so if you need to tend to the baby, you bend over further. Sounds dumb, but DH is 6'3" so it made a difference for him. Also, the crossbar in the back of the UBV is higher and curved, so even he doesnt kick it when hes pushing it. And part of the huge selling point for me was the folding. The UBV cannot be folded with the bassinet attached (it has to be removed first), but it can with the seat attached and facing forward. The Bugaboo must be broken down and then folded, making it near impossible to do while holding the baby. Living in NYC you might not need to break it down a lot, but we moved over to Hoboken area so we do a decent amount of driving.

That store that let me test was Planet Kids on 86th near 2nd Ave, but the guy said he did me a favor. They would probably let you if you asked. But they had a pretty big selection. Also, Giggle is very flexible like that as well. There is also a store in Hoboken on Washington called Bambi Baby that lets you test them out as well, I just dont know what their selection is like. =o)

If you want to test drive my UBV, I can come into the city at any time!

I envied babies that actually slept in the bassinet. My son hated, the bassinet, his car seat, everything for the first 4-5 months of his life. We could not go anywhere without getting stares because of our super loud crying baby.

I'm already a stroller stalker and I am not even pregnant. It started when my NYC sister was deciding on them. BUT, I have to say it won't only be about asthetics for me-- we live in a city and very rarely drive, so I'll be pushing a stroller over all sorts of sidewalks and roads. But we don't know where we will be living-- if it was somewhere we could push the stroller right inside the apartment, then the bassinet would be key. If I'd have to lift it up stairs anyway, no baby is going to sleep through that (nor would that be safe!)
I love the way the Bugaboo looks though. I not so secretly hope that my sister decides to give it to me when I get pregnant.

@MamaMoose: $400 is a great price for the vista, and if you're planning on jogging at all, I hear the BOB is super essential. So good purchases! :) And don't worry about being a stroller whore. One family I know with 4 kids from 3-9 has 10 strollers...!

I oscillate between worrying about having stroller envy if someone has something nicer... and worrying about spending too much money on something that's not really worth it. I'm kind of a stroller whore and at only 16 weeks preggers we have a Bob (bought used and really cheap from my cousin who was getting a double Bob) and an UppaBaby Vista (which we only bought this early because they were selling the floor model for $400 and it was the color I wanted). So.. we have two super expensive strollers but we intend to use both of them through at least two children and a third if we have one. So I decided it was worth it to spend the money upfront and get something that will last long term. I won't lie that the fact that they are both very nice looking strollers also makes me happy : )

@Rock n Roll: @Mrsdaredevil:

The B-Ready had some features like parent facing and expanding to a double that other strollers didn't have. I was able to get the car seat and stroller for $400 (during the Free Ride event which starts again in July). So even though I think its a bit more high end then some others, it was worth it to spend a bit extra and get the features I really wanted.

I was a total stroller stalker when I was pregnant too. I test drove them all (the little baby shop near my apartment in NYC let you stroll them outside with a baby doll in it lol) and we ended up with the Uppababy Vista. Thats likely the one you saw, as it comes with a bassinet. We got ours a bit discounted, but it was still expensive. We use it a LOT though

@autumnlove: If it makes you feel any better, the UppaBaby bassinet is totally not a sensible choice!! You can't fold the stroller with the bassinet installed, so you have to take the bassinet off then fold the stroller and store the bassinet separately. Also, since it's a bassinet you can't put baby into the car in it, so you have to transfer from carseat to bassinet. So it's really only useful if you're gonna be out and about with the baby for a long day in a stroller-friendly environment... which we never were, we were mostly home... so the bassinet was more useful as a place to sleep at home!

We got our UppaBaby with a friends and family discount from the factory because Wagons Sr. and Jr. were featured on the cover of the 2011 catalog :)

@Rock n Roll: For us, the spendy stroller was a function thing (although I do love the way the Vista looks too). We don't live in NYC, but we live in a historic downtown area that's heavy on the brick and cobblestone sidewalks. We needed something with heavy duty wheels and good shocks. We also do ton of walking so we needed a really reliable, tough stroller. Our LO is only 5 months, but I think we've already gotten our money's worth!

I honestly don't get the stroller obsession for people who don't live in NYC! We just used a snap and go with her car seat for the first year and use an umbrella stroller now that she's older. We go for walks pretty much daily, but we don't really need anything crazy and I can't imagine spending that much on a stroller.
