I have one and it has foam blades. It works, it certainly moves the air, if it isn't being touched! I had the same kind last summer and BOTH were broken. But, I would think they are useful. Today was super hot and LO and I had to come in from our walk because he was burning up! Despite the ice cold water in his bottle.<br /> I would only fear a baby sticking his fingers in it?
