We often use our travel/lightweight single stroller but just load it with the two car seats and diaper bag. I was able to fit the two car seats on top of each other in one of those travel bags and then balance it on the stroller. I’d wear the baby and then let the toddler walk

@nwm: If you really don't want a stroller then I would recommend wearing the infant and using a car seat cart for the oldest. We just got this (https://www.amazon.com/Britax-Seat-Travel-Cart-Black/dp/B005CNEQK0) for a trip with a 1.5 yr old and 4 year old. We put the 1.5 yr old in a stroller that we gate checked and toted the 4 yr old around in this.

@Corduroy: a stroller is helpful when we travel. We ordered a gate check bag for it that keeos out clean and somewhat protected when we gate check it

hi all--i am bumping up this older thread as i have a similar, but slightly different issue. also traveling with a 2.5 year old and 3 month old. in our case, we are going to be driving a lot where we're traveling to, and after several bad experiences i'm fairly set on bringing our own car seats and using them on the flight. plus, the baby is pretty good in her car seat (so far) so i'd like to be able to hopefully have her sleep in there during the flight. however, we really will not need or want strollers where we're going. so question becomes, how to maneuver through the airport.

we currently have a single mountainbuggy nano and an UB vista. we have a chicco keyfit and a cosco scenera next.

do we:
-put the baby seat on the MB nano, have the toddler walk and one of us schleps the cosco scenera through the airport?
-put the baby seat on the UB vista, have the toddler ride, check the vista and still have one of us schlep the cosco scenera?
-get a second travel stroller (ugh the cost!)
-use an immi go or other even lighter option than the cosco?
-some other combination of options i'm not considering?

would appreciate any suggestions from experienced travelers!

I would wear the baby and use an umbrella for the toddler. My 2.5 year old is in the stroller less and less these days. On our last trip we brought an umbrella stroller and the ergo and never needed the stroller at all, it just carried our carry ons while DD walked.

When I traveled with my boys I carried one and used an inexpensive umbrella stroller.

For me it has been really helpful to have the stroller for containment in the airport even if you won't use it much at your destination. Times when your big kid has to stay put like when you are waiting to check bags, go through security etc. Your hands are always full until you get through security! I haven't traveled with two yet but have worn baby and pushed the big kid in the stroller on errands and plan to do that when we start flying.

Do you really need a stroller at your destination? I would probably just do a carrier for the baby and either nothing or the Maclaren for your toddler.

in your situation I think I would either bring no stroller, or just the carrier and the b-agile or maclaren :).

especially when i'm on a trip at my parents with my husband, I always find there are enough adults around to help out/watch toddlers/carry babies. if I were on my own that would be different! :)

I'm planning for a weeklong trip to see the in-laws. DH and I will be taking our 3 mo and 2.5 yo. What would you suggest for stroller lineup?

The 3 mo hates his car seat and I usually wear him as a result. The 2.5 yo can walk long distances. We primarily use her stroller for containment on busy streets.

We will be renting a minivan at our destination so the double stroller should fit. We will be checking the infant seat so we won't have to lug it through the airport if we don't take a car seat stroller.

My menagerie of strollers:
Chicco infant seat caddy
Contours double (infant seat attaches)
B-agile & Maclaren (singles for toddler, I don't have a Britax seat for attachment)
