I agree with previous posters that the UBV is not the best choice for a double. I loved it during maternity leave for LO#2 as I could leave it in my car with the rumble seat and have a single when I was just with the baby (most days) and a double when I needed it, while only having one stroller in the car. But practically, there is not a ton of space in the rumble seat, it doesn't recline and I find it hard to talk to my toddler since the seat is SO far from me. I am always ducking down and yelling, "WHAT?" to talk with my LO! Most of my friends have agreed that all the verticle type doubles aren't ideal for prolonged use (the phil & teds, b-ready, city select, etc) because they are heavy, hard to steer and our kids just don't like them. For a double, I would go for the City Mini Double or Bumbleride Indie Twin as they fit through standard door ways and are MUCH easier to steer! All the toddlers I know prefer to sit next to their beloved babies too

I highly recommend the glite as an umbrella. It is a perfect little stroller and we have never had a problem with the lack of incline for naps at the airport, etc. If you can find it on sale for $100, it's a lot of bang for the buck!

yup I agree with those that wouldn't go for the vista as a double. If you're just planning on using it as a double on long days when LO1 would need a place to sit, I think that's fine. BUt if he will be young enough that both babes will need to be in the stroller for longer periods of time, I would go with a true double, like a b ready, or a phil & teds, or a side by side like the city mini double. Either way, I would wait til you are pregnant with LO#2 to see what the spacing is going to be.

It sounds like you already have an umbrella stroller? If not, we LOVE our g luxe--it is great!

I've heard terrible things about the UBV being used as a double stroller. I didn't get it because the ramble seat didn't have a sun shade, seemed cramped, and it doesn't recline.

I'd recommend this one- http://www.amazon.com/Contours-Options-Tandem-Stroller-Crimson/dp/B008H3T65W/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382548688&sr=8-1&keywords=contour+double+stroller
Cheapish for a double and so many seat options!

or this one- http://www.amazon.com/Valco-Baby-Double-Stroller-Flower/dp/B007X64EKG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382548770&sr=8-1&keywords=double+stroller+valco

I've also heard amazing things about this double- http://www.amazon.com/Bumbleride-Indie-Twin-Stroller-Black/dp/B00BGY97YE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1382548994&sr=8-1&keywords=bumbleride+twin

My friend sold hers, bought a phil and ted, and HATED it. She went and bought another bumbleride!

I would probably opt for the B-Ready (it has more configurations for a double, and is better with a car seat and second seat as compared to the Vista), and it is much more maneuverable than the City Select (both for single and double use).

For a single stroller, I prefer the UBV. But for a double I would go with a B-Ready.

I have the UB Cruz and I love it. It is so easy to use, super durable, has tons of storage space but is smaller and more compact than the vista so it fits better in our small apartment and in tiny NYC stores. But if we had any plans to try for #2 anytime soon, I would have gone with the vista just like you're doing since it is a larger version of the Cruz that can seat two children.

The Vista is an awesome stroller but I don't know if I would buy that if I really need a double stroller. The jump seat is better suited to a kid who just needs to ride from time to time, it doesn't recline so they tip over if they fall asleep, it is a small seat and it makes it harder to push over uneven surfaces. The one other bad news thing about the Vista is that to unfold it some part of the fabric comes in contact with the ground so for slushy weather having your stroller dipped in slush is really no fun.

Have you looked at the City Select? It is bigger than the Vista but that also means it will accomodate 2-3 kids a bit better. You could use it now as a single and then add on further down the road.

I think the City Select would be my plan and then add an umbrella stroller later as needed.

Assuming you go with one of the strollers that convert to a double I would buy that on the sooner end of the spectrum just so you can get as much use out of it as possible.

Love the G-luxe! LO's will be 2.5 years apart, and I'll figure out our stroller needs with two kids when the time comes.

We have the Vista and so far I have felt no need to include an umbrella stroller in our lives. I would go ahead and get the Vista and use it for A now and then add a second seat when another LO comes along.

We have a Graco infant carseat and Graco literider that worked well for us (our version of the snap&go I guess?) But need an upgrade to something more durable and lasting.

I was originally planning on getting the UB gluxe umbrella stroller, but the literider will be just fine for the handful of times we use it at the mall/etc. since we are approaching winter time here in MI.

We're planning on trying for LO#2 sometime next year, so I rearranged my stroller plans to invest in an UB Vista (because we are also planning on a third LO in the far future). And I wanted to get a new infant carseat anyway (probably chicco). And I love the 2-3 LO options on the UBV.

I also figured I could get a double umbrella stroller sometime after that--

Is this a sound plan? Or shall I buy the umbrella stroller for now-LO#2 and decide on the double or vista purchase later?

ETA: DS will be 2.5ish with a LO#2... and 5, 2.5 if we have a LO#3
