@Beehive: @Cole: we have the Nano and it's great- folds up easily and very small. I can also confirm its useless in the sand. We walked to the beach this summer and just folded t up when we got to the sand. i have never been on a cruise though so can't speak to that.

I would do a combo-- buy an umbrella (one that reclines, "just in case") and babywear to the beach. LO#1 hated being worn (LO #2 likes it), so if I didn't bring a stroller, I would be SOL.

Definitely babywear! You aren't going to use a stroller at the beach or a waterpark! I've never been on a cruise, but I can't imagine there would be a lot of room for a stroller.

I would baby wear and then have an umbrella for LO to nap under on a towel/cushion if you think napping while being worn will be an issue. We didn't bring a stroller to Mexico, and honestly, it was better to just wear DS.

@Cole: I would suggest the Mountain Buggy Nano. It's an umbrella stroller but it folds into a little package that is small enough to fit in a plane's overhead bin, so it wouldn't take up much room in your cabin. PLUS, it is compatible with most infant seats, without separate adapters. It is small and pretty light, and it has a good recline. It's also pretty narrow, so would probably work in narrow cruise ship spaces. Even if you don't foresee any other trips where you would need it, you may switch to an umbrella stroller full-time when your LO is a bit older (we use the Mountain Buggy every day instead of our City Mini now).

Thanks! I was worried about a place for her to sleep while we are out and about thinking it might be too hot to wear her but it might wind up easier than a stroller. We pack pretty light so I think we should be good with a small diaper bag for those days out.

@Cole: no matter what stroller you have, it won't be able to roll over the sand at the beach--I have tried! Because I'm dumb, I've tried more than once!

I live in NJ and we went to the beach for day trips a couple of times over the summer and I tried my big B-Ready and my small umbrella stroller and neither one worked on sand--I ended up picking the whole dang stroller up and walking with it to park it where we were going to spread out--annoying!

I do have a friend that has cruised twice with her LO (once at 8 months and once at 1.5 years--and the took a small umbrella stroller on board which they used quite a bit. Esp the first trip, their LO would sleep in the stroller while they were out and about, doing stuff. I think they had a Nano (mountain buggy).

For excusrions off-the boat to a beach, I would definitely babywear.

I can't imagine using a stroller on the sand, sounds like a lot of frustration and extra gear. I'd just babywear.

I vote for wear or carry - its the easiest way on vacation and six months is very manageable to do it for long parts of the day.

Honestly, I would not even bother with a stroller. I would just wear/carry her. You'll have your husband to carry a diaper bag or vice versa, so I don't think you'll be inundated with gear. We've never brought a stroller on vacation....one hotel had some to borrow, but we could've done without. I don't love umbrella strollers, personally.

Any chance the cruiseline has gear you can borrow?

I would buy an umbrella stroller, something that reclines. We have a Chicco umbrella stroller similar to this and although we haven't used it on sand, we have used it on gravel and it works pretty well. It reclines flat for napping, has a canopy to protect from the sun, and is a good price. It's also great as the child gets older (our 2 1/2 year old still loves it for the zoo, ect.)

We are going on a cruise in April and bringing our six month old. It's for a wedding so we have less control over some of the activities. We will have two beach days, and one day at a water park type of place. We are bringing her bucket seat but she hates it with a passion at this point so I think a snap and go is not an option.

We have a city select which is great but it's a beast- and that makes for a lot of gear in a cruise cabin.

Umbrella stroller might work but it might be more of a pain at the beach? Plus, I feel like I would want a nicer one with recline and rubber wheels for this trip but we don't really have any other trips planned where I would need a stroller with those features.

I found a good price on a b-agile, and then we could snap the car seat in but do I really need two full sized strollers?

I am sure I am over thinking this but I would love some thoughts.
