@meredithNYC: Now that she is a bit taller, she can see out just fine even when she is facing me or on my back. I also was trying to practice the side/hip carry this weekend.

Most front facing ones like the Bjorn aren't good on the hips.

@Thehistoryofus: Did you ever feel like she got frustrated about not being able to look around as much? If so, did you ever go w/ a forward-facing one and if so, at what age?

@meredithNYC: Keep trying with the Ergo. I think around that age my LO got fidgity in it too. Once she really wanted to look around and be with me she started loving it (and when we got rid of the infant insert)>

I bought a Quinny Zapp from Albee Baby for $120 shipped...it's the old model (2009-2010) but has all the extras. It was perfect for our needs (international travel and bringing on board the plane as a carry on).

We registered for a Baby Jogger City Mini , not sure if anyone can attest but I read a million reviews and recommendations and it was highly rated for city living!

We have the Britax B-Nimble umbrella stroller and I love it. You can strap your infant car seat on it as well; and if you have a Britax infant car seat it just clicks in place. I also like that my LO sits higher compared to other umbrella strollers. Maneuvers well and the handle bars are higher for taller people.

@meredithNYC: it is great and easy! You do need to figure out something else once LO outgrows the carseaf but it sounds like you have some time.

@rachiecakes: The Zapp is adorable! Maybe too expensive since I feel like we already spent so much on the Vista, but still - very cute.

@Thehistoryofus: We do have the Ergo, but I find that LO gets restless in it after a while. I wish she didn't since I really wanted it to work for us, but here's hoping the next kid (whenever we decide to have one!) will like it better.

Do you have a good carrier? We got a good stroller and then an ergo. I use the ergo for those short trips where I would be using an umbrella stroller.

Could you just get a snap n go? It is basically a stroller frame that the car seat fits into, super lightweight, easy to fold one handed, and easy to fit in a trunk. Ours is a hand me down but i think they are $50-60 or so on amazon. We still use ours for stores and LO is 9 months now.

So we have an Uppababy Vista which has proven to be a great asset on the uneven pavement of Brooklyn sidewalks! Overall, I really love it. However, we now have a car and I find it kind of a pain to fold down and put in the (tiny) trunk of our Prius. I would like to use the Vista for jaunts around the neighborhood, but for times when we're able to get out and about on the weekends, I would prefer to have something lightweight, collapsible and relatively inexpensive.

Any recommendations? LO is 3.5 months, weighs about 13 pounds and is not so upright at this point in time.
