@banana: Now that is definitely something I hadn't thought of but would be willing to try! Thanks for the suggestion - we have an outing planned for tomorrow so I'm going to see how that goes using a toy arch and her bigger pram, but if those fail, the pram is coming inside for a stroll around the house! Thanks!

My son went through a short phase where he hated his stroller. So we actually brought the stroller inside our house for a while and pushed him around in it periodically through the day in our living room. He got used to it and was fine after a week or so. Maybe try that?

@Mrs. Bee: I'd totally be ok with letting my LO walk. But she doesn't know how to walk on her own yet!

@artbee: charlie didn't want to ride in his stroller at that age either, so we walked everywhere. then i got a push trike around 14 months, and that became his stroller!

I thought this was going to be a post about toddlers! My LO is 14 months and starting to hate the stroller because she wants to walk everywhere.... only she can't walk yet so it's an issue. Before she loved the stroller.

Good luck, hope the other bee's were able to help more than I was!

@Mrs. Jacks: @Coco Bee: Thank you both for your suggestions! I think I'll try using the bigger stroller for now as she can face me and that seems to be the best distraction for her. We'll also try for short bursts and see how we go. It's just so weird as she loved her pram until about a week ago and I can't figure out what's suddenly made her hate it!

@Mrs. Bee: Not a bad idea! We have something similar for her car seat and she loves it, so maybe we'll try it in her pram. I suggested it a while ago but DH was resistant, saying he wanted her to see what was going on in the world, but at this stage, I think it's worth a try.

@MungBean: Oh no, you're having a similar issue at 7.5 months? I was hoping this was just a temporary phase and that when she was a bit older, she would love looking around and taking in the world around her! Carrying them is so hard on the back and shoulders....even when LO was a newborn, weighing around 7 lbs, she would get heavy quite quickly. Now at 14.5 lbs, forget about it. I can only imagine with a 7.5 month old...

DS hated the stroller until he hit 6 months. Before that he always wanted to be held and would always end up crying in the stroller. We did something similar to Mrs. Jacks - whenever there is something he doesn't like doing (stroller or tummy time) we started out making it as fun as we possibly could for short spurts at a time, and eventually he has learned to associate both with fun. He is just over 7 months loves strollers rides!! He faces out now so it's a lot more exciting for him than when he was in the carseat position.

Lala went through a long stroller hate stage. I was doing couch to 5k at the time, so it was really important to me that she learn to tolerate it.

I'd put her in at her best times of day with her favorite toys an go as long as we could without picking her up. We would then extend the time a few minutes each day as tolerated. It took a long time, but eventually she learned to associate the stroller with fun .

I'd be interested in seeing the responses, as my 7.5-month-old absolutely HATES her stroller with a passion and refuses to sit in it for than 10 minutes. I wear her everywhere, but sometimes it'd be nice if she would just sit calmly in the stroller... my back and shoulders could finally get a break!

Hi all,

DD is 3.5 months old and all of a sudden, HATES her pram! It doesn't matter where we are, as soon as we put her in the pram, she starts losing it and quickly escalates to a full on meltdown (high pitched shrieking, red face, gasping for breath from crying etc). We've tried her at all the different reclining positions and none of it makes a difference. We have two prams (a normal one and an umbrella) and she does this with both so I don't think it's anything with the particular pram.

She's been doing this for just over a week and I keep thinking it's a gas bubble, but now I'm not so sure. She quiets down as soon as we pick her up, but then if we try to get her back in the pram, it's full on meltdown time again.

I've tried letting her cry it out a bit in the pram when I know there's nothing wrong with her, but it's awfully hard to do in public. I normally don't care what others say but when DD is having a meltdown, I'm already a bit flustered and getting comments from random strangers certainly don't help.

Has anyone gone through this? Is this just a stage? I'm getting to my wit's end as it means that we can't really go anywhere unless I put her in the Bjorn...and given that she's 14.5 lbs, I don't like using it for longer than an hour max as it really takes a toll on my shoulders and back.

Any suggestions? Thanks!
