@NovBaby1112: yes! Advice for both of us!

@travelgirl1: I SO know that stare! You would think I was abusing him with his screams. To make matters more annoying he rarely or never does this when his dad or someone else is around so they all think I am crazy.

@sunny: he sometimes throws toys or treats but perhaps if I timed the treats better he would be more responsive.

@Cole: oh that's a great idea about the singing, he loves it when I sing. I am SO gonna try that tomorrow. I'll let you know how it goes. Same with pretending to crash.

@autumnlove: sigh....welcome to the world of toddlerdum eh?

@mrbee: yeah I think I need to stick to more f a set time or routine with it. I try to but he has been teething so it screwed us all up.

@mediagirl: hahah seriously. I mean what do they think is gonna happen?

@californiadreams: I know! The mom guilt and then I end up trying to overcompensate for my guilt by trying to cheer him up but he really lets me have it. Ugh

Thanks for all the great tips everyone!

@californiadreams: Lol! I was trying to put her into your Beco actually to calm her down and usually if she sees me fastening up the Ergo she'll stop pitching a fit and wait as she knows she's getting out but she didn't recognise the Beco and I swear she had nearly kicked herself out of the stroller straps and all the old dears nearby were glaring at me so I had to abandon that idea and just carry her in my arms. I wish carriers could be fastened one handed. I was super pissed about the onions, lol.

@travelgirl1: sorry that grocery story made me LMAO! I'm sure no one thought u were the worst mom.

My LO is starting this now too and I had to deal with it at the mall last weekend. I was slightly embarrassed as it looked like I was torturing him. I realize this is just the beginning. Eek.

And he seems catatonic once I get him in too which just brings on my mommy guilt :(

Yep. Almost 18 months and she pitches a fit when we put her in it. She is fine once in, though. Weirdos.

It's all about transitions with our kids! We will save gummi vitamins for the stroller ride to school, etc. It helps sooo much, but sometimes I forget to prep a snack and it's hard,,,

I have been through this before and it is absolutely no fun. We got through it with food bribes too even though I try to keep it as a last resort. Sometimes I would pull out a toy that had been stashed away and offer that just as I am putting them in the seat and it would work about half of the time. Have you tried singing? The good news is this phase will end soon. At some point (maybe 18 months-ish?) they start to understand a bit of reasoning-- "hop in and we will be at the park super fast!" and you can kind of condition them to be happy about the stroller by using it for lots of fun things.

Oh and I have never met a kid who doesn't find it hilarious when you pretend to crash.

I have the same problem with my 15 month old not wanting to go in the stroller. I try to coax her by giving her Cheerios but I realize how bad it is though! :-(

Us! She's almost 13 months and totally asserts her opinion on the matter, arching back, kicking, trying to throw herself out of the stroller. It amazes me how much strength is in these little babes. She did it in the supermarket the other day, everyone was staring like I was the worst mum in the world, I ended up carrying her while trying to push the cart and the stroller at the same time, bumping into all the displays and dropping my bag of onions which all rolled away from me, ha. I think in our case she just loves to be carried/worn instead.

My LO (12.5 months) does the exact same thing most of the time, and has been for awhile now. Same with the car seat, ugh. Usually the only thing that works is distracting her with some puffs or those Ella's kitchen cookies, or a sippy of water. I know it's probably not the best idea to give her a treat or snack every time to get her to go in the stroller, but forcing her in is so hard and she is stronger than me, haha. She is totally fine once we start walking though, so strange! Anyways, no real help there, but you aren't alone! Looking forward to hearing if anyone else has some good advice :)

Has anyone else been dealing with extreme stroller tantrums? My son used to love his stroller but the last few weeks every time I start to put him in he screw bloody murder and fights me. He is strong! He arches his back or straightens his legs and screams. It used to happen occasionally but now it's everytime. It's awful because the stroller is my car essentially. I don't drive. If I want to go anywhere more than 10 blocks away I need it because he walks too slow and he is too heavy to carry the whole way plus wont let me carry him the whole time anyway. He is 15 months in a week. Any suggestions? All that seems to help now aside from kit forcing him in (which is awful) is to put on a DVD while I sit him down. He is usually okay in there once we start pushing him around although he can seem a bit catatonic and upset sometimes at first.
