I picked up my Mountain Buggy on Tuesday! It's great! Still on the bigger side and only fits in the Prius if I take the wheels off, lol. It was the only one that would fit in there.

I love our Bob revolution for running, but I would not call it lightweight nor would I call it compact. I can put it in the back of my SUV with our big dog next to it, but it's not compact!

@rachiecakes: i agree that trying out the strollers in your car is a great idea. It sounds like you are leaning towrd MB but i wanted to chime in that our bob, which has been great so far, fits in the trunk of our civic and corolla that are several years old, so your caar might hold more than you think.

@rachiecakes: This is the buggy I have!

I would go for a Mountain Buggy over the Phil & Ted, my SIL has a Phil and Ted and she's forever having trouble with the canopy on it, I also think that the MB has a longer lifespan judging from the 2nd hand one's that are available in New Zealand.

If you don't want to go to "off-road" then you would probably be ok with the MB Swift, otherwise I'd totally go for the Urban Jungle :-)

@NYCaliMama: thank you so much!
I do think the BOB is going to be too big for my small car. And between the Mountain Buggy and Phil & Ted's, it seems like the MB is the way to go.

I have a single Bob Revolution SE that I love for jogging... Suspension wise, it can't be beat... Very smooth ride. A bit bulky in the trunk, but we have an SUV so I don't mind. Not too heavy to lift, but I wouldn't call it lightweight like an umbrella stroller. I love my Bob and I have had a lot of strollers to compare it to. Definitely one I don't regret buying.

I also just got a Mountain Buggy Duet (double stroller)... Love the brand so far and highly rec them for their quality, simple design, and all-terrain features. I know you're not looking for a double, but it does ride as a single if you take a seat out and use a "Joey" (additional shopping basket on the side). Amazingly, it's a side by side double that's the same width as one of their single strollers, so size wise, it's "compact" for a single-double side-to-side.... Goes through doorways very easily at only 25" wide... I believe it's only one more inch wide than my Bob. It is, however heavier at 34 lbs.

The MB +One is another good option, but I didn't like how two kids can't recline, but if you aren't thinking of #2 just yet, might not be much of a con for you.

The MB Swift also might be an option for you.. Seems more compact and light than the Urban Jungle.

Phil and Teds ... Have read a lot of horrible reviews on them, but I have a few mom friends with 2+ kids with no issues. They did buy Mountain Buggy a year or two ago.

I don't think you can go wrong with Bob or MB... both are quality brands. Just do "test drives" IRL if you can. Stores should also let you see if a folded stroller can fit in your trunk. If you have a Buy Buy Baby near you... they have the best selection in strollers IMO.

Apparently Mountain Buggy is owned by Phil & Teds.

This is the model I had in mind: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000LT8MW8

I'm thinking the BOB will be a little too big for my Yaris - the 'trunk', the back hatch space, is tiny. I like the Phil & Ted's because it has the second seat option add-on for like, $80. Not that we're planning on #2 though! lol
But I like the Mountain Buggy because it seems like the Phil & Ted's but a bit more compact...

I'm on the same hunt. If it had come out sooner, I would have gotten the Mountain Buggy +one from the get-go. For now, I'm just going to get a used BOB and get a new all-terrain stroller when #2 comes along.

DS is quickly outgrowing his infant seat and soon the snap-n-go will be useless.
We have a Quinny Zapp that I love. It's a great stroller but we're going to need a second just so we have one in each car and I'd like something that has tires that are a but more all-terrain.

I need something that is lightweight, folds up easily and isn't too bulky but can also hoof it over rocks, sand, etc.

Anyone have one of these strollers and offer your thoughts?? Right now I'm leaning towards the Mountain Buggy.
