I think it’s fine on MAX as long as it’s not a super busy/crowded time of day. Buses are harder and would need a fold option.

@youboots: thanks! Yeah it sounds like you’re somewhat required to fold up your stroller when you’re onboard the train or bus, so it sounds I have to reconsider using our double stroller for the trip. I don’t want to be struggling with two kids while trying to fold up a double stroller in order to board the train.

It just depends on the time of day. Here is the official website https://trimet.org/guide/kids.htm

Hi all! In my area, it’s fairly easy to take public transit (trains not buses) with a double stroller (we have a narrow Mountain Buggy double) as long as the train is not crowded. If there are any Portland natives or recent Portland visitors who have dealt with this in the past, how was stroller usage (especially double stroller usage) on the Max light rail? We’d likely be taking the Max from the airport to our downtown hotel (and return) and likely again from hotel to the zoo. Does this seem feasible or are the trains narrow, not easily accessible, typically crowded, etc.? Thanks!
