My son never slept more than 2 hours at a time for, oh, the first 6 months, and even then it was more like only 90min. And that was at night. During the day I was lucky to get 20min cat naps. All of that to say that some babies just don't sleep very much and it can be very difficult to deal with from day to day. Good luck! It will get better at some point.

Just wanted to echo that you never know what the next day/week/month will bring. DD slept great from 3-4 months and terribly from 4-6 months. We now have good days and bad days. You aren't alone! I think babies who wake frequently are probably the norm (even if it doesn't seen like it).

I am not there anymore, but I will tell you that most people go through that for some part of their baby's infancy. Not all, but most. My newborn woke every two hours but by 1 month, he was sleeping 5-6 hour stretches. Until 3.5 months. Then he started waking every 2-3 hours and that lasted for MONTHS! In fact, he didn't sleep through the night again until 10.5 months. I can tell you we were at the ends of our ropes. Other people I know were like you with a LO who started off not sleeping then slept well for a while. What they don't tell you is that babies go through cycles where they sleep more and less. So don't worry. I know it is hard but then it passes. And then the easy part passes too. It is constantly changing. I'm sorry you are in the trenches though. It is tough.

My son is 3 months old, since he was born the max he will sleep is 2 hours at a time, we once got a 4 hour stretch but that was like finding a unicorn in the forest. I am a single mom 1/2 the month and i am just so run down and frustrated. While other babies his age are sleeping 3,4,5,6.7 + hour stretches i am stuck in this endless cycle of torture with him.

It seems like most moms i meet with babies his age are sleeping so well, and i truly am happy for those moms but deep down it just makes me sad for myself. I ran into one mother in town with a son born on his birthday she goes: "i am just so tired, he only sleeps for 5 hours at a time." I just stared at her with a blank expression, and when she asked how long my son slept at a time she didn't real;y have much to say.

Anyone else in my sleep deprived boat? I feel alone in a sea of exhaustion.
