@swurlygurl - we are SO lucky that our insurance is covering the nutramigen 100% (and they are not that great in other areas so I was shocked). I would be way more desperate if I was tossing something that we were paying that much for! Thanks for reminding me that it could certainly be worse :)

Whenever DS went on a bottle strike it was often closely related to teeth. Perhaps she's getting some teeth in?
DS, at 14 months, LOVES to let the bottle drip on his face, or my arm, or the ground.... Good thing this is his last container of formula!

Oh no, that Nutramigen is expensive stuff! I hope you're not having to waste too much of it... :/

DD has been extra wiggly with her bottles lately (4 months), I wonder if she'd do better with a faster flow...

Thanks for the advice! She does best on her bottle right before bed (when she is falling asleep). I can probably do better to cut out distractions during her other bottles though. She's still using slow flow nipples too - maybe I'll give a faster one a try!

Did you move up to a faster nipple? I found that my LO drank slower with the slower flow nipples and liked the faster flow better. I held off on the faster flow until recently b/c I'm almost done with breast feeding him. He can chug an 8 oz. bottle much faster now too. Oh, and btw, he was also pushing it away for a few weeks or just drink 4 oz (out of 8).

Both of my kids went on bottle strikes at about 7 months. It took about a full month to get back to nor normal. In the meantime, I had the most success with feeding them in dark, quiet rooms right before naps/bedtime. They actually drank the most when they were half asleep, right before I put them into bed.

Don't worry, your LO will outgrow it soon. :)

DD is 7 months old and we are having a hard time with her bottles lately. She has been on nutramigen since 3 months old and we've never had a problem. For the past week she will let me feed her the first ounce or two and then she quits. She's pushing away from me, trying to roll off my lap (scary!) or grabbing the bottle with both hands. If I give in and let her hold the bottle she holds it above her face and drips the formula all over herself. Eventually she might get it to her mouth for a second and then bring it right back out and look at it and maybe throw it on the floor. I've been getting her to take about half the bottle but it's a huge battle and takes forever.

I'm not sure where to go with this! I don't want to completely discourage her independence or force her, but she needs to take more than two ounces at a time. She's only just started actually swallowing her solids (just once a day) so she's certainly not getting her calories there. I would try the formula in a sippy cup, but we've only done water in a Zoli so far and she doesn't get it yet at all. She chews on the straw, gets a little water into her mouth, makes a terrible face and lets it run down her chest. Anyone have any experience with this? Thoughts? I'm really dreading feeding times lately...
