I checked on her once during a nap and woke her up and learned my lesson. Invest in a video monitor!!! It's a total life saver!

@Mrsdaredevil: DS is 4 and I still check on him every single night. Usually it's only once but sometimes more.

LO still sleeps in our room but I wake up every couple of hours and take a quick peek to make sure she's ok. I like when she makes little noises as I hear those whilst half asleep and know she's fine, but when she's quiet, that's when I have to pop up to look at her. I have a feeling that once we move her to her own room, I will be in there every 20 minutes!

aww!!! I remember this... I used to do that when he didn't wake up after 3 hours. It gradually built up though; like he started with 5 hours stretches and that was amazing so I could check on him after 3 hours. Then it built up to 7, then 8. Then finally he slept 11.5 hours and it was incredible... the even more amazing thing is I slept so deeply and when I woke up I was astounded that he nor I even woke up. Now he STTN 1-2x a week and I sleep right through it.

Hopefully you can find some peace of mind soon! I loved having our video monitor because then I can just check on him from bed.

I still check up on her but she is in our room so it only takes a glance to see what she is up to.

I stopped checking on her a while ago. But now that she's sleeping on her stomach, the worrying has started all over again!

For the past three nights, W has STTN (knock on wood). She is still having one feeding before her morning wakeup, but her first stretch has been between 8 and 10.5 hours.

However, I am not sleeping as well as she is! Once I look at the clock and realize it has been 5 or 6 hours with no wakeup, I run into her nursery to check on her. And every hour after that.

When did you stop checking? Were you finally able to have peaceful sleep after a while?
