Which is why we usually try to get a condo-type/bedroom type arrangement. Always bring the sound machine! This past weekend, I would either lay down to sleep or like @Foodnerd81: go in the bathroom and play on my phone until she was asleep. After she's asleep, I can only play on phone or tablet and/or go to sleep early. But at his age right now, he was so hard to get down that he was up late and we just went to bed at the same time. Totally boring! A tablet would probably work for us but only after he was really asleep. We've also gotten rooms next to friends and at in the back at a table with the door cracked. Nothing fancy - just Hampton In. Or Hilton Garden Inn. He goes in one room and we go in the other. Then we watch shows on the laptop and eat dessert or read. The couple of times we've stayed in hotels with my daughter in a pack n play, we've put the pack n play in the closet with the door open. Then I sat on a chair on the other side of the hotel room and played on my phone for a while before going to bed early. It was a super exciting night.
