I took several years of Latin, which actually taught me more about English than any of my English classes! Was a fantastic foundation for all the “romance” languages. I learned a large amount of vocabularly, but lacked the opportunity to practice or really learn how ASL is "spoken". I was learning things like contractions and prepositions when I don't think that's how the ASL community communicates. So while I remember a few things here and there, I wish I'd had more of an opportunity to learn it in a relatable setting.</p> <p>I also wish I'd worked harder in Spanish. My sophomore year I studied abroad in Honduras and learned to speak fluently. My junior and senior years I did an independent study kind of thing with my Spanish teacher and took the AP Spanish language and the AP Spanish literature exams. I think it offered me a much stronger grasp on grammar and how to write/speak correctly, and understand a lot of language based on the latin roots.
