If you need a quick bite, Ernestos pizza is the best!! I second Modern bakery over Mike's. If you want to indulge in a mani/pedi, I love Bella Sante on Newbury St. It's a day spa, so you could spend a few hours just relaxing. You can take the T or a cab/uber to that part of the city. The North End also has some very cute boutiques (shake the tree and twilight). Check out Boston Common Coffee on Salem st.
