Basically I have very early work hours (start at 7:30am) and our new local preschool doesn't open its doors until 8:30am and is a 30 minute commute from my office. My husband will normally do drop-off, and I will do pick-up, but on the days when he is out of town, or has a meeting, or can't do drop-off for some reason (which is pretty frequent), I need a backup plan to get her to school. Because there are literally 3 families within 100 yards of my house that go to the same preschool, it seems to make sense to pow-wow with them to drop her off sometimes, and I will pick their kid(s) up.
